LEARN HOW TO BE A SHEPHERD

BERGUEDÀ / PN del Cadí - Moixeró
THE EXPERIENCE Live a day of introduction to this millennial job. “Being a shepherd is not only a traditional job, it’s a feeling, a different way of life. It’s being in constant contact with nature, and even if it is a very sacrificed job, having the worst schedules, and not very profitable, I have to say for me, it is the best thing in the world”.

This is the way Ricard explains to us his job and way of life. He has been a shepherd for more than 20 years and comes from a traditional shepherd family. He currently has a flock of over 700 sheep and invites you to live first hand, what it is like to be a mountain shepherd.

Get to know the life and the environment where shepherds live and feel their passion for a different way of living and interacting with nature through the diff erent stories and experiences that Ricard will pass on to you as you spend the day in his company.

WHAT CAN I DO Come to have a family summer day at Coma Bella (Coll de Pal), in the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park, and enjoy nature while you discover one of the most ancient jobs of the world, that of the shepherds.
During the day, and always in the company of a shepherd, you will live first-hand the experience of being an authentic mountain shepherd.

After a good breakfast based on local produce and grilled meat with toast, we will take the flock out to the meadows, where you will watch the shepherd dogs and see their ability to manage the sheep.

You will experience the spectacular landscapes of the Cadí Moixeró Natural Park
and with some luck, you will observe vultures and other Pyrenean fauna such as chamois, and red and roe deer. You will also learn the art of sheep necklaces and even make a shepherd’s bag.
