Pedaling between valleys.
Mountains, rivers, valleys, wildlife, fl ora, forests, meadows, refuges, bridges... The Alt Pirineu Natural Park is an ideal place to live and enjoy this family ride.
There are a lot of tracks and paths for practicing this activity in the middle of nature. From easy routes, suitable for all members of the family where the only purpose is to spend a good time contemplating this wonderful landscape, to more demanding and more difficult routes for those who want to overcome each step.
The route that we propose communicates the regions of the Val d’Aran and the Pallars Sobirà by the Valls d’Àneu in an environment of singular beauty, and by roads that in ancient times were used as main way of communicati on of the Val d‘Aran with Catalunya, as well as with some French regions.

WHAT CAN I DO
This is an ideal itinerary to do with your family and you can not miss it, accessing one of the most wild and unknown areas of the Alt Pirineu Natural Park.
The route begins in the Pla de Beret, in the Val d’Aran, where a pleasant descent begins, alternating sections of high mountain pastures with stretches of black pine forest. In 6 km you will arrive to the abandoned village of Montgarri, an essential stop for contemplating the beautiful landscape, and where the Sanctuary and a mountain refuge are still preserved.
From here the route descends for 30 more kilometers. With the river Noguera Pallaresa as a silent companion, crossing great and leafy forests as well as alpine meadows. A track with history that passes through beautiful and small towns, until arriving at Esterri d’Áneu. Villages that despite the simple life of its people, history endowed with architectural treasures. Medieval bridges and beautiful Romanesque churches along the Noguera Pallaresa are witness to the ancient Royal Path to France.
The track is a forest path until the Refugio del Fornet, the remaining section is done on a little travelled asphalt road.
This activity is recommended for children 12 years and older.
