Having fun in the water is an experience that you can live throughout the year if you wear the right equipment. However, the hottest months are the best moments to sink into the most exciting activities offered by the rivers and lakes of the Catalan Pyrenees and by the Mediterranean beaches, which rime with water fun for all. Those amusing and participative activities will allow you to discover the territory and its natural spots which rime with life, culture and gastronomy and which will put your skills to the test and teach you some sports practices that may become new hobbies.

Let’s start in Ebro Delta, a natural site that is precisely full of life thanks to its waters, both the ones that arrive full of sediments at the Ebro estuary and the ones that wait for the latter before vanishing into the sea.

Exploring the Delta is an outing that combines kayak and bicycle. An activity for all the family that starts pedalling between rice fields and rivers in search of the local wildlife, and then, once in the village of Balada, goes on in full connection with water on board a kayak on the Ebro. A skilled guide will teach you about the techniques related to this pleasant and silent way of sailing which will allow you to enjoy all the details of the river woodlands.

Another high voltage activity offered in the same region is the Fishing Charter, a spectacular experience for sport fishing lovers and an amazing moment for people who have never tried it. Adrenaline and satisfaction of feeling the fish taking a bait guaranteed! The activity is rather long (about six hours) so that you will have time to enjoy it in all its intensity. You will be accompanied by a skilled skipper who will give you tips and tell you all about the best fishing techniques. Material and refreshments on board included.

You can also enjoy a series of activities that are synonymous with direct contact with water through Xàrter Tour, which offers customized  boat trips with skipper that adapt to your motivations: along the seaside until the wild beach that links the Delta to the Buda Island; upstream until Deltebre or Amposta with a stop on Gràcia Island; visit of the local mussel farms with tasting of this select seafood, … Just go aboard and enjoy the show of nature, which is absolutely fascinating !

And the last option in this territory is a direct connection with water in the depths of the sea: a first dive. An introduction activity which will probably turn into a new passion that you will be able to practise wherever you want. After the theoretical part aimed at knowing about the material and the security rules to follow underwater, you will have a practical session on the beach with air tanks and a first shallow dive together with instructors who will guide you all the way through.

Let’s go to a completely different environment, the Pyrenees, and live a water adventure with the family in the Pallars Sobirà region. This activity may last between 2 and 5 days, according to your availability and your thirst for adventure. Just go for a combination of activities such as 4x4 trips to Aigüestortes i Sant Maurici Natioanl Park, adventure parks or introduction to horse-riding. And, above all, remember about the huge possibilities of the region to enjoy exciting water activities  thanks to the rapids of the valleys: the frenetic rafting descents through the waters of Noguera Pallaresa –which will oblige you to work in a team to go through the curves of the river, playing with the speed and with the splashes of every bump–, and the canyoning descents –which will speed up your heart beats across the fresh Pyrenean water of the natural waterfalls and slides. If you prefer more peaceful activities, you can also go for a pleasant kayak trip or discover the paddle surf on calm waters.

Kayak trips on mountain lakes are also a top activity of the Adventure summer with the family in Pallars Sobirà, a one-week programme that includes a wide range of original activities such as guided stargazing with tasting of local products or the guided tour of Seurí church. Just combine the workshops, routes, hikes and the wide range of water activities the way you want!

Llavorsí definitely rimes with rafts and rapids that will awaken your instinct. Just come and enjoy rafting with your family, a fun activity of the Pyrenean Adventure. The different difficulty levels of the sections are adapted to each group and allow to live the experience from age 7 upwards. You can also go canyoning or kayaking on La Torrassa lake, in Guingueta d’Àneu.

Let’s set sail to the Pyrenees of Girona and enjoy family canyoning in Vall d’en Bas, in La Garrotxa region. Once equipped with wetsuits, harnesses and individual protections, the whole family of real explorers will be ready to enjoy a specific route through a river that is full of jumps, rappelling descents and rock slides. A perfect activity to have fun in the heart of nature and to spend a refreshing time full of adventure.
