Sebes Natural Reserve is one of the main natural areas in Terres de l’Ebre. Together with Flix Meander, it covers an area of more than 250 hectares of free waters, wetlands, riparian forests, river islands and oxbow lakes. Thanks to its wide variety of habitats, the Reserve is an important place for the preservation of the biodiversity of fauna, flora and vegetation.
Open to the public, this natural area can be freely visited following the main itinerary along that wetland, which is also a section of GR-99 trail. This route, which can be done on foot, by bike or by vehicle, goes through traditional crops, riparian forests and wetlands that you will see close up walking on the footbridges and walkways that lead to the observation points. Once there, you will have the opportunity to admire the lush vegetation and the local fauna, especially the birds that stop over or live there. This habitat is so well preserved that you may even see some otters!
We also suggest you to go for some of the activities we organise in the Reserve: environmental volunteering, scientific bird ringing, workshops on nature, interpretative hikes, … Check our offer on www.freixe.cat/agenda.

The footbridges will take you to the heart of the Reserve and to the observations points of birds, Camargue horses and storks. At the end of the tour you will have the opportunity to taste some Lutra, Sebes Natural Reserve’s handmade beer, made with hints of mint and liquorice, two typical plants that abound in this natural area.
