Lo Pallars Fer (The wild Pallars) is a hiking route through Alt Pirineu Natural Park, the largest park in Catalonia, which still hosts some genuine values of the high Pyrenees that are worth being preserved. Its paths will take you to fantastic wild valleys, meadows with livestock, deep forests, river banks, charming villages, barns, chapels, passes with incredible views of the valleys, emblematic summits such as Monteixo or La Pica d’Estats, and panoramic views of Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park. This is a practical workshop whose participants will learn how to use the best edible plants of the local landscape. The activity starts with a short introduction about how to identify and collect the plants, followed by their culinary applications and the making of 3-4 dishes, and finishes with the tasting of the dishes made during the workshop. This is one of La Garrotxa’s musts. This morning outing will allow you to see the two most emblematic sites in the Natural Park of La Garrotxa Volcanic Zone: Corscat volcano and Jordà Beechwood (La Fageda d'en Jordà). Take enough water for the whole activity. This guided tour is also offered to disabled people, but for better accessibility, it is recommended to alter the itinerary and to use a Joëlette bike (if you tell us in advance, we will get one at the Natural Park of La Garrotxa Volcanic Zone). Trans Pedraforca (www.transpedraforca.cat) is a magnificent 2, 3 or 4-day mountain bike route around Pedraforca mountain with various levels. It is “a wonderful mountain bike adventure through an impressive territory”, as the route surrounds the Pedraforca massif, which is listed a Natural Park of National Interest. In addition, a great deal of the route is located in Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park, an area that is specifically protected to preserve the native flora and fauna and that allows you to pedal in the middle wonderful beeches, lonely grasslands and extensive pine woods. El Berguedà is a privileged region to experience nature in all its splendour. The activity includes luggage transfer, selected accommodation, half board, maps and tracks, and optional GPS in order to enjoy a wonderful mountain bike adventure. See more
