The first thing you must do to love nature is know it well. Although you might have been fascinated by the magnificence and beauty of Catalonia’s unique natural landscapes, everything will definitely click once you have the opportunity to know it personally. The step between acquaintance and close friendship with the rural world occurs through a series of activities such as direct and experiential observation of nature, walks on the beach, mountain treks, bird watching, plant discovery, environment interpretation …  To do so, we offer you a wide range of options adapted to ages, seasons and main interests. Before we start, just remember this tip: don’t hesitate to go for new and unknown activities, as your current hobbies turned into passions thanks to discovery!

Let’s go to Ebro Delta to discover a territory located in the middle of lagoons. A vehicle will allow you to go through the most interesting sites and to know about the contrasts and richness of all the ecosystems that make out that fragile natural space.

The Ecocultural Safari through the Delta is another way to plunge into local culture through demonstrations, games and workshops. This 4-hour experience by car will allow you to discover the ornithological variety of the place and the authentic knowledge of its inhabitants.

If you like action, what about exploring the Delta combining kayak and bicycle? Pedal between rice fields and the river until Balada, the smallest village in the Delta, and then switch your bike for a kayak and paddle to the Delta quay. A great way to enjoy the local flora and fauna in a peaceful and close way.

We’re now off to a completely different scenery: the Pyrenees. First, we will discover some of the unknown secondary valleys of the two Pallars regions, which also rime with extraordinary landscapes and experiences. This Route of the unknown Catalan Pyrenees includes the tickets to small museums and an amazing tasting experience.

Once in the Pyrenees, putting on some mountain boots and discovering the endless rural areas is a real must. Just choose between short hikes or longer mountain treks (several days)! In Alt d’Àneu, at almost 1,400 metres above sea level, the village of Son is a great starting point for hiking trips we can do with you, telling you all about the awesome surrounding natural places.

Treasure hunting in the area of Orri Massif is another activity you can do in the Pyrenees. On the other side of Portainé ski resort, you can live the best family adventures and emulate the legendary treasure hunters, who were able to adapt to the changing weather conditions of Orri Passes in order to find genuine natural treasures.

Through games and puzzles, the kids learn and get motivated to broaden their knowledge of the natural environment. The same happens with the interpretation of the landscape and of the formation of the Pyrenees, offered in La Seu d’Urgell: an activity that will help us to interpret the current landscape imagining the ancient glaciers that sculpted the Pyrenees.

And with an eye on the next holydays, we suggest you to spend an adventure family summer in the Pallars Sobirà region with a complete weekly programme full of guided activities such as stargazing, local cheese and liqueur tasting, visit of Seurí church, kayaking in mountain lakes, workshops, guided routes ... A customized summer that will make you feel part of this fascinating landscape.

How about a botanic itinerary? Enjoy a really original one next to Taüll, aimed at families and small groups. Discover the medicinal herbs that were used by locals for centuries and learn the names of the species that grow along the paths. The activity ends up with the visit of an ecologic crop in the village where arnica and edelweiss are grown to produce natural anti-inflammatory creams.

The time has come to take a step further, fill your rucksack and discover Catalonia on foot through other guided activities offered by the rural companies that work on the territory and provide customized experiences. Let’s start with the Pass crossing (Travessa dels Ports), a route through forest tracks and paths that will allow you to discover all the beauty and the loneliness of the mountain in all its splendour. We will help you to discover the local botanic species and the remains of our mountain ancestors, which tell us about life in the Passes.

Aigüestortes’s Magic is a 4-day cross-country trek focused on water, as it is a constant discovery of mountain lakes. A unique natural spectacle that crosses the Pyrenees from Boí Valley to Pallars Sobirà, by way of Alta Ribagorça and Àneu Valleys, spending the nights in different mountain huts.

If you like cycling, you may also be interested in our discovery activities, from Ebro Delta to the highest Pyrenean peaks. As we know that what makes you the happiest is to pedal through incredible natural spots, we prepared a wide range of routes you may not be able to choose from.

Trans Ports is a 2 to 4-day MTB route across Tortosa-Beseit passes that will allow you to live a wonderful adventure in that both unknown and impressive territory. As the activity includes luggage transfer, selected accommodation, half board, maps, tracks and GPS, the only thing you have to do is enjoying the ride, the landscapes and your fellow cyclists.

During 2, 3 or 4 days, you can also enjoy the Trans Pedraforca at your own pace, following the different routes through the valleys which surround that enchanting mythical mountain.

In the volcanic area of La Garrotxa, the Trans Garrotxa is a splendid option to discover the most unknown part of the volcanoes route. Paths, beech woods, streams, … The route can also be customized and done in several days, including all the services, so that you can enjoy that demanding itinerary and its really spectacular landscape.

Finally, if you prefer cycling in a quieter way, what about discovering the secrets of Cardós Valley by electric bike. Rent one on site and discover the fantastic landscapes of that silent valley which is full of little secrets that you will gradually find, at your own pace, whether with a guide or by yourself, following the tracks through a mobile app.
