Mainera Lakes and Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park through Àssua Valley

Àssua Valley is a gateway to Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park and to the most remote lakes in the area. Located 2,466 metres above sea level, in the municipality of Sort, Mainera lakes inspired Josep Virós to write his novel Verd Madur (“Mature Green”), which was once brought to the big screen.

The National Park is characterised by the immensity of its mountains and glacial valleys and by its numerous lacustrine areas. Thanks to its wealthy fauna and flora you will enjoy on the way, this is one of the most appreciated landscapes in Catalonia.
